But now finally its happening. The Play off stages for the sixth season of the European Quakeworld League has been finalized. This is what we have been waiting for with matches decided and the dates set. No excuses and no whine.

QHLan 11 is in the history books. It has produced a 1on1 finals that ranks probably top3 in my mind in terms of intensity and skills and maybe even overall playing time with 4 overtimes! You can download the full 1on1 demopack here, for some reason I can't upload it to CHTV... The 2on2 finals and the 4on4 playoffs were also a feast for the senses, as was the overall positive vibe from the gamers who were there.

The Russian Quakeworld Scene has been very active over the past year, with many new players joining up to boost the numbers playing the great game.
The showcase tournament for the scene - the Russian QuakeWorld League has been ongoing over the past few months with a high level activity and participation.



In the past number of weeks the 11th season of the league came to an end with the grand final taking place on the 17th December between doom and xpr.

First, the news. Groupgames for 1on1 are scheduled to finish in about an hour, by 1400 local time. Then registration for 2on2, and then the 2on2 tournament itself will begin around 1500. Then, at 2100, the playoff brackets for 2on2 and 1on1 are scheduled.

Participate in a special QHLAN edition of LGC3, the deadline for all demos is until the end of the lan. You will need to download a special zip, and for now the only maps allowed are dmm4_3 and povdmm3; more info.

QHLAN 1on1 signups are open. You can sign up only if you are attending the LAN, obviously. Two divisions will be seeded by Elite Kabal of QW Players -- Gold, and Silver. QTV is available.

The 1on1 rules are as usual, the map list is Aerowalk, Ztndm3, DM2, DM4, and DM6!

Sign up before 11pm today, with your known nickname (do not use fake nicks). The round robin games will commence 11pm - 1am, blitzkrieg style!!! Tomorrow morning the single elimination will begin. More concise information to come, while we go and eat enough food to last us the rest of the lan. The games will happen on the official QHLan servers only, and spectating will be available exclusively through QTV.

I'm at a New Years Party, but noone is here yet, so I am borrowing someone's laptop to write about the event, which I will fly to in less than 48 hours from now!
