American 4on4 draft league

An American draft league called STA 4on4 QuakeWorld draft league has been announced in a news post over on ESReality. From the limited information given we know that the league will run over four weeks and the maps will be DM2, DM3, E1M2 and "possibly two more maps".

Some deadlines to remember:
League signups end December 10th.
League draft is on December 11th.
League matches start December 18th.

Yeah, I just dont get what the big deal is.
The game is from 1996, one would think they have gotten their fair share of money out of it by know.

If you don't want to be hypocritical, you must admint it is the ftp that shares the files that is not cool in the first place. The site only links to it. On the other hand I don't see a reason why they couldn't link to steam purchase of the game with smth like "if you like the game, buy it for 10� here".

Well i guess it will start just before Christmas but it's America only. :}

I think there is another league in the works for EU though?

I'll be surprised if this ends up doing well but I hope it does. NA scene is pretty dead still even if a decent amount of people signed up. The 2v2 tourney got a lot of sign ups too then was a relative flop (especially the rookie div). I think our scene is just too dead and small. :-(

The league has evolved into more than a 4v4 Draft league, the "STA" name has been dropped and it is simply part of NA-Quakeworld. http://na-quakeworld.com #na-quakeworld . Just to update those wondering
