This week (of this month) on the Slipgate Report QuakePhil and ParadokS welcomes guests nitram and Rikoll to talk about their recent duelmania encounter, their experiences so far and what's to come.
OK, some areas to improve: Video quality is terrible. Phil, you should use some simple textures pro cfg. Move weapon stat to bottom part of screen. Let health, armor and weapons be visible. Scores and nickname of current player is must have too. It is very hard to understand what is going on in the game. Especially for new players. Remove bizarre "the slipgate report" logo or make it smaller and transparent. Same with photos of players. And the last thing is to make it obvious who is speaking. You can use mumble with overlay or use videoconference over skype or other similar videochat.
Weapon stat to bottom of screen i second, but the rest of it isn't really necessary as it's intended to be a radio show anyway and the demos are just background buzz? Video is just bonus
Right now that background buzz is annoying tbh. And improving the video quality is a plus anyway.
And I forgot to mention one more thing. Please, make it available via audio podcast in iTunes. In that case my car will automatically download and play it during my commute to work.
Damn blaze could you nitpick more? I actually hope he doesn't improve video quality as it'd probably lead to bigger file sizes and I mainly just listen to it, not watch. The only issue the show continually has is languages issues because most Europeans, even if they are fluent, aren't fast like Phil and Paradoks. This show was good.
Perhaps you could learn to speak swedish/danish/dutch/german/norwegian/spanish etc pg Complaining about language issues on an amateur show isnt nitpicking?
But I'm not complaining, I just said the show was good. My favorite part of the show is when Paradoks and Phil are talking because it moves fast and they cover a lot more. :-P nitram and Rikoll have great English skills, I'd even go so far as to say they are fluent in it. Even Phil commented on that fact before that some Europeans have excellent English but love to go slow to make sure it's 100% perfect. It's not a nitpick, more an observation and I would love to see more Europeans with slow English on the show because they are great guests. :-)
I do speak a little of two other languages so I know how tough it is. Marunong ka ba ng ito? That's probably wrong too because I always butcher it, haha.
