EQL 13 week 4 review
This week we will be doing a review of division 1 and 2. With only 6 matches played in each of those divisions it's a little scarse on things to write about, we did however see SuddenDeath make a valiant attempt to try and catchup with the rest of the field, despite not being able to put strongest lineup. More on that in the detailed review.
There was also some movement in division 2 which will be covered my co-writer GND.
Division 1:

With only 6 games played this week it was SuddenDeath and clan MalFunction who dominated most of the action this week - however it was cMF that took the charge on the board jumping way up to a 2nd place 4 points behind Slackers.Their match against TeamKillers was nothing short of amazing. On paper cMF was definitely the stronger team, although with en_karl back for tKS and the addition for the strong swedish player ganon it was clear this was not going to be a walk in the park for cMF. A truly thrilling first round on DM3 gave cMF a 1-0 lead winning 205-201. With medar scraping the bottom with 32 frags, and his closest teammate at 55 frags he must have been seriously *facepalming* after that round.

But tKS did a formidable and swift retort in winning E1M2 with clear victory of 285-187 and the crowd was growing ever more anxious.. would tKS made an exciting upset here beating cMF?

It was sure close to the end as tKS put up another stellar performance on dm2 but could not quite hold the distance against this strong finish lineup. Kudos to both teams for a very thrilling spectator experience

The second match for cMF was not lacking in the nailbiting department. It was even more exciting than the TKS game. SuddenDeath taking down DM2 with only 19 frags, although noticeable that BPS was missing from SD's lineup replaced by the notorious DM3 up'n'comer rkd. Quite a hit to their lineup, especially on this map, but with veteran player fix also missing from cMF it was to be a very close game.

The second map, E1M2, was also close to the very end. This time cMF changed out mazer with fix. Being behind 0-1 against a weaker SD lineup it was clear they had to do something. But despite the reinforcements for cMF SD held their ground. E1M2 is the homemap for SD though and they usually perform above average here. and with a very slim 5 frag win for cMF it was all wide open on the decider - DM3.

A pretty even start for both teams developed into a nightmare for SD only 1½ minute into the game, as cMF already had accumulated 4 weapons with armors 'n shite. GAMEOVER! Or at least it looked like it the first 10 minutes as cMF was racking up the frags and SD was swimming and seeming clueless. It was clear to me they needed BPS at the helmet and grisling is also a strong addition on this map. But something happend midgame and SD managed to get a grip on the map. With 10 minutes left on the clock and 70 frags behind it was the start of a really nice comeback.

SD gained more and more control over the map, running all the quads and having full RA control. But where were the frags?? after another 5 min of full SD control it seemed the scores were frozen. SD was just not able to take advantage of the maplock and in return cMF did a great job playing defensively. They really held their heads cool and knew they could run out the clock playing smart, especially when SD was doing so poorly in pushing the control and making frags.
A textbook example on how to change gears midgame during a hectic game where the pressure is on!

The last game for SD this week was against Slackers II and it was again fairly close. Although if you examin the scores on at least DM2 you can see it was a one man show by BPS. The dm3 was much closer with only a 27 frag difference where the game was pretty much dead even in terms of powerups/weapons/armors.

The last few remaining games were Slackers vs Teamkillers in what could only be considered a walkover. HangTime top fragging for TKS on dm2 and ddk with 0 frags (albeit 14 kills!) was a weird conversion. Also here the absence of ganon was noticed.

Lastly Fusion made an appearance (and the crowd went *wooooaaa*). Unfortunately it was only 1 game, and it was against Demolition Crew in an uninteresting game. But it was nice to see both blAze back in action and some gametime to dimman. Lets hope they are gonna pick it up next week with some more enthusiasm as they are still trailing far behind on an 8th place outside the playoffs.
With only 4 games played total so far it is far from a hard task for them to make it into playoffs - as long as they play those games!

Well that's it for div1 this week - I guess it became more of match reporting post this time, in lack of more games to write about.

Division 2:

In week 4 there was alot less action being played than the week prior.
Lastenharha finally got beat by Bad luck troopers (congrats)!
But... Lastenharha played without there star Scenic. Still impressive though. BLT had a very nice week also beating chosen to make them 4-0 on the week and in a steady 3rd place in the division.

Dinosaurus & Noobs still sits at the top of the bracket in first place with a 2 point lead on lastenharha, by playing the most games. They managed to beat Psychosis this week 2-0. They are definitely playing the most games and doing quite well.

MAGNUM got 3 games in this week, losing to lastenharha and warpigs, but taking it to chosen sneaking by with a 2-1 victory. OClan also played 2 matches this week and lost both to some formidable opponents in lastenharha and Fraggers United, but holding 5th/6th place strong
with a 6 point lead over the next lowest clan MAGNUM.

Well this division is really starting to take shape now. The difference between second place and 5th/6th place is only 5 points. And then below that the point totals just take a plummet.

It would be really nice to see PSY/Immortals/LavaBeds get a little more activity going as we are heading down the stretch.

Over and out from ParadokS and GND

An amazing 14 games played this week for division 3 (amazing? shouldn't all divisions average that per week?!) but unfortunately I don't know any of the teams very well or the dynamics of that division and still require assistance writing weekly reviews for them.
