ClanWarz 2nd round: get ready!
With the initial round we're just through, you may start preparing for the second round of ClanWarz.
The teams have played the total of 21 games in three divisions, with the Division of the Padawan Learners as the most active.

No clan has won all the maps - aX3 excluded due to the fact they played just two games - even the mighty Slackers or Satan's Soldiers made from other brilliant gamers like Milton or kingpin. The result of 3-0 occured in 15 games, 2-1 happened 6 times.

The concept of the ClanWarz is to warm-up the community and provide as many official games as possible. Another idea known is the interleaving of the divisions. Therefore, the teams with lowest ranks in the Division of the Siths ( comunista simpatico and Hard Guns Dealerz) will be replaced by the two top teams from the Division of the Jedis ( Revolution and Demolition Crew). Moreover, the teams of Dark Abbots and Clan Cube Squad (Division of the Padawan Learners) will take place of Demolition Crew 2 and Magnum 44 (the Division of the Jedis) which now will run for their Quads in the lowest category.

Unfortunately, the team of Jamajengi had to face removal due to the complete inactivity in the league.

The table of the first round you can check here alongside the current table of all divisions.

The site of the ClanWarz has also provided (thanks to cpe's invaluable input) the system of comments (under each game played), so feel free to whine/praise as much as you want. We have also worked hard on further improvement of the site so keep your fingers crossed and stay Quake-tuned!

Round 2 commences today and finishes on Sunday, 21.02.2010, 00.00 CET. Do not wait for the last moment and start your frienzied fragstreaks ASAP! We would also like the top Sith clans remember about the possibility of their games being coveraged live by Jehar's Tastyspleen.tv/. Just hit us on irc at #qw.pl in advance and we will make it happen.

The 2nd round begins now!

I think the system used is interesting. Especially the part about playing all 3 maps each game

In a group system with 3 maps where map wins are responsible for points (ie. not playoffs), it makes a lot of sense. It removes the element of map-picking which leaves it entirely down to the overall skill of the players as a team and individuals instead of a hasty (and likely ill-informed) decision based on the habits and history of another clan. It's just pointless metagaming which detracts. That system would also reduce the impact of custom maps on a pool.

The downside, of course, is that you have to get 8 players on a server for 20 minutes longer in every single game, and sometimes that feels like trying to stuff 8 cats into a burlap sack.

During my seasons as "clan leader" I have noticed that the hardest part is to get ppl to show up for the game. Once they are on the server for an official match there isnt many things that will make them drop if everything goes smooth. What makes ppl drop are rapes, delays and connection problems. I will admit that getting raped on 2 straight maps might deter the losing players somewhat from playing a third map...

Pracs are a different story, some days you get bored after 20min
