As I should have expected with a summer tourney, the
oldschool tournament has had its ups and downs. The bad news: tons of walkovers in the early rounds, top seed
ParadokS losing interest and disappearing, and of course the great Duel Grandmaster (as per stats.quakeworld.nu)
Mors has been eliminated outside the top 10. The good news...
Good news: rising duel stars are making their names known, such as
XantoM,
hagge,
trygve, and a large polish section still active, comprised of
szu, troll, goniec, bls, and headed of course by Avenger. Also in it are the veterans
witka,
pkk, and largely unknown
lohe who had an upset elimination victory over
fix early in the tournament. That is all mostly the lower bracket, who will fight it out for the chance to be in the grand-final.
The fight for the winner bracket finalist is between winner of
LocKtar and
blsp, and winner of
BuLaT vs
fifi (
recently played)... The lower bracket is behind schedule, and once the second semifinal is played, I may have to drop some players due to inactivity in order to move the tournament forward.
