Eyecandy setup, beta released
This is the pack for all of you who enjoy nice eyecandy, because you won't find anything better than this. See the thread that started it and read on here for info.
The spectating pack that was created for Dreamhack is now released! A pumped up FTE engine with all the good graphical features, featuring stuff like Ruohis' models and purplehaze's particle effects. If you thought that a 486 was good enough to run Quake you might think again with this setup.

Get the pack and experience Quake like it should be!
What you need to do:
1. Unzip http://f.nu/spec/quake_spectating_pack.zip (295 MB) to its own directory.
2. Put your pak0.pak + pak1.pak in the id1-folder.
3. Run spectate.bat.
4. Type /observe <server>
5. Pick up your jaw from the floor.

Screenshots looks nice Molg but why didn't you use the whole QRP texture pack?
For example dm2 and those mixed rune textures doesn't look that nice imo.

The reason I didn't only use QRP was that it lacked bump, gloss and IIRC luma. It looked much better with textures that had those things too, but I'm pretty sure I missed out on making everything fit perfectly toghether. That's why I released a beta so I get that kind of feedback

Yeah I checked it and you're right, there are 2 different rune textures, I'll note it and fix it on the next release.

I would advice to try some of these FPS tweaks and see if any of them helps:
gl_compress 1
gl_texture_anisotropic_filtering 0
r_bloom 0
r_lightstylesmooth 0

Don't forget to do a "vid_restart" for them to take effect.

Try a nightly build and see if it still happens:

Crashed when i try to play a mvd demo.
On any configuration: Vista x86, Vista x64, XP SP2 x86.

Pretty sure it's a bug in 2770 that does that, the nightly builds doesn't have it.
