I'm getting into video editing and wanted to make a qw vid as my first project.
However, when i try to capture with ezQ it says that the acm filter is missing.
I use 'lame mp3 filter' but somehow the client doesn't detect it.
So far I've been encoding audio separately, but I'm too lazy to do it for all the material that i need.
Anybody knows any other codecs that runs with ezQ?

first decide demo_capture_fps
then set demo_capture_codec to ""
then set demo_capture_mp3 to ""
use demo_capture start 99999 filename.avi to start capturing and demo_capture stop
that's how I do it anyway :/

hmm i guess u didn't undertand my problem
i can capture vids, but they are pretty big files since audio isn't encoded
i have only 250gb and it's not very convinient to capture then to encode audio with another software
however ezQ says that my acm filter to encode to mp3 is missing, but i have lame mp3 installed
if somebody knows the acm filter that works with ezQ than it would really help speed things up.

well, I had that same problem, I just turned demo_capture_mp3 to "" since something is fkd there
why do you want the mp3 when you get sound with .avis ?

If you are capturing the video uncompressed the audio track will be a tiny fraction of the file size anyway. No use compressing it. If you want to make a quality video, edit uncompressed (or lossless compression).

the audio still takes up to 15% of the file, and my 250gb is pretty much a joke for video editing.
ezQ should make an option to get rid of audiotrack when capturing. most of the time people don't need it anyway.
i guess i'll have to stick with virtualdub for a while.

you probably doing something wrong, unless you're trying to make a 3 hours movie with 1024x768.

use Huffyuv as a lossless codec for capturing and no compression at all for sound!
