FortressOne is a stand-alone QuakeWorld Team Fortress (QWTF) package for Windows and Linux.

It is powered by a modified ezQuake, and includes graphical enhancements from the Quake Revitalisation Project, dox’s models and Plagues pak, as well as dozens of custom improvements.

You can think of it as nQuake for TF. Check it out.

First of all, it's really great to have a package like that.

I find it fascinating that the TF community has survived that long being secluded from the main QW community which in itself is kind of a secluded community itself.

If you dont mind wasting a bit time in answering this. I saw on your page that you basically listed 3 different mods (fortressone/megatf/huetf) for 3 different Regions (Oceania/North America/ Brazil). Do you know, how many players are roughly playing TF per region and what are the most significant differences between the single mods?

I've updated this section to include the Russian community, and also links to the code-bases for each mod.

The Oceania community plays organised games every Wednesday and Sunday night. We had 16 people in the server last Sunday if that gives any indication to the health of the community.

The North American community play weekly on Friday nights. I think it's reasonably common for them to get a dozen or more players.

The Brazillians are still very active, they frequently run 8v8 pugs organised mainly through their Portuguese language WhatsApp group.

I believe the Russians play a 3v3 format and still play occasionally.

As far as I can tell the West European community has died out completely.

I can't talk at length at the differences between the mods, except to say the FortressOne mod is a continuation of the classic-fortress project, which focused primarily on fixing bugs, and improving the experience of playing Team Fortress for new players.
