Did you guys change anything about the sounds of the game?

I use ezq 2.0 Alpha and sounds seem fucked up, namely being hit sound,
countdown sound, teleport, respawn, lifts, switches sounds and more. This seems very strange and is
very annoying.

I previously replaced my oryginal QW sound with Q3 sound pack and thought
of it as the reason of that.

Now I've just removed them from my qw directory completely and nothing's
changed.

What might be the problem here?

There is a 2.0 alpha? Sure it isnt 1.9?
It also sounds like you are playing a mod?

Yes, something like that, just like a stupid ctf mod.

I must say that with the previous versions (1.9 alpha) it sure was the same thing. No change since then

As mentioned above, lots of sounds seem to be replaced with weird "mod-like" sounds. Watch some mod movies and you'll get the idea. It makes playing quite irritating. Thus, I still use ezq 1.8.3. Furthermore, the problem occured with ezq 1.9 alpha as well.

Check the link at the top - 2.0 alpha is waiting there

There you go - http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=117445&package_id=150609&release_id=581255

With these weird mod-like sounds it's still barely playable....

It appears the alphas have moved on from 1.9 to 2.0. I get a nightly build once or twice a week from the usual place and now I noticed the /version cmd returns 2.0.

Mystery solved.
