Between 1997-2002 I tried hundreds of quake mods. Some really cool, some boring.

Mods cand be divided in 2:

TC - Total Conversion: When a mod has new sounds, models, maps, etc. Can completly change gameplay (like QuakeRally for instance)
and
"cant remember" - Partial Conversion??

My favourite mod of all time is Target Quake - http://retroquake.planetquake.gamespy.com/blog/?p=267

Quake rally and Air Quake were fun also. http://retroquake.planetquake.gamespy.com/blog/?p=174
Sketch quake is cool also. http://sketchquake.blogspot.com/ - although its a client, not a mod, its a twist. Like Fisheye quake or WeedQuake

I recommend everyone to see some of these mods and the ones ppl will post here.
Name your favourite mods. All mods can probably played in a recent quake client (FTE, DarkPlaces, Tenebrae...).
never argue with an idiot. they'll bring you back to their level and then beat you with experience.

yuss, ktx! can be much better though. possibilities are infinite!
I would like ppl to talk about all mods, except the most known ones: ktx, ktpro, ctf, tf....

For example, in Brazil Total Annihilation is the most played mod. I dunno anything about it

Painkeep is also nice (the farts when we pick the beans are gr8!)

does anyone remember a netquake serverside mod named 'deathmatch plus'? it had homing rockets and laser tripmines and stuff like that, and was also shareware compat. I remember playing on quake.nye.net all the time way back in the day and they had that mod, the mapcycle was every other map being start and every other map being e1m1-e1m5 plus e1m7 (no 6 or 8 that I remember)

fun times...
