I' m using ez 1.8.2:
I wanna use +speed couse i like the feeling, and when i cfg_save (to config.cfg) it says +speed, but when i restart qw, +speed dosnt load, and when i put cfg_save just to check again, it says -speed.
Ofc i could type +speed everytime i start qw, but that kinda sux
I think it has something to do with config.cfg, couse when i use cmdline and cfg_save jon.cfg for example it works. But i dont wanna use cmdline, couse ez 1.8.2 gets buggy then...

I guess a temporary fix would be alias on_enter "+speed"

I guess a temporary fix would be alias on_enter "+speed" That should work. As for now I created a speed.cfg containing only +speed and then exec speed.cfg in cmdline, it works, but sux a littlebit. But maby its better to use alias on_enter +speed if it works, ill try whe n i get home or maby even alias on_enter exec speed.cfg Wouldnt it conflict with on_enter browser?

alias on_enter +speed works great. But it would be interesting so see a fix for this, or is it my cfg? So the question is, for you who´s using (autoload) config.cfg and no cmdline, does +speed get saved?

http://drok.net.au/junk/cl_forward.htmSo what's the difference between +speed and "always run"? Not much it seems. +speed does not change any values. Instead, the game knows if it's active, and effectively doubles all movement in all directions. There are a limited number of possible setups. Although the value of cl_xxxxxspeed is saved as a string value and parsed as a float, it is capped at 512 before it's sent on to the server. So 512 is the max value for both forward and sidespeed. This is true even if +speed is activated, and so with +speed the max value becomes 512/2 = 256. Set it to 666 or whatever, it still counts as 512. Take into account that you'll want at least speed 320 in each direction (that's the maximum speed with which you are allowed to walk in a straight line), and the possible values will be limited to [320 - 512], or with +speed, [160 - 256] Can someone familiar with the quake source confirm/deny this article? So i guess theres something more to it. Mouse feels different....
