Here is a little tutorial which will hopefully get you started: http://qwdrama.com/2006/12/25/how-to-make-a-quakeworld-video/

thank you.

So once I have my 30secs clips how do I then compile them together to make an .avi file?
Also, once that is made how do I add sound?

I am interested in making the movie and sound in sync so I need some proper software to be able to edit things together.

You need some video editing software like Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere to put the clips together. About the sound recording, if your settings are right you can record an avi with sound included (and synched) with ezquake. I don't know too much about the settings, so you better ask someone like mech or pez. However you can also record the sound seperately by using free software like Audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net/).

I've never captured with sounds on, since i do dumpframes, but it shouldn't be difficulty.

I know any experienced video editor won't do that but if he just wants to make a short clip with sound included, that's probably the fastest way to do it.

edit.

wait a second, you have never included ingame sounds in your videos? Then never mind what I just said

thanks. I have all the sounds/music needed. I just need to know how to attach it to a .avi (or what ever format) movie I have.

I am guess Sony Vegas or Adobe Premiere and are for the movie yes? Can I also add audio with that software?

I dont want ingame sounds, i just want the visual from the game and the audio I will add myself.

I need to chop up the audio so it is in sync with the visual tho.

I am a music producer and I can chop the audio myself, I just dont know how know what software is used to attach audio/visual.

virtual dub work is excelent for this. can merge avi + audio without tempering with your content in unexpected ways.

and it's free ( i think)
