As u know, ktpro does't change frags if u kill mate via telefrag or spawnTelefrag. But at the same time u get -1 frag for teamkill via weapon or +1 frag for killing enemy via telefrag. So to be consecutive we must do -1 frag for any teamkill even with telefrag. Right?

Don't talk me about luck, just don't walk over spawn spots.

And btw, here present "/teleteam" ktpro command, which toggle behaviour or team telefrags.

Every action in the game causing death of some player should change the score in some way.
This "feature" or "bug" hasn't been exploited by anyone yet as far as I know so it can't be considered as a part of a gameplay so it's safe to change it in the clearly logical way.

Well, if you kill a player of the other team with a tele or spawnfrag and you gain a frag, then it's fair that when you kill a teammate you lost one!

I can see it now. SR is up over CMF by 1 frag and angua is chasing insane with 3 seconds left in map 5. Insane calls for Paradoks to go through the nearest tele so they can telefrag each other. They manage to do so and then hide off the spawn.

Come on now, who REALLY wants that to happen?

This all sounds logical to me. What i don't like however, is that all servers won't be updated and have this new version of ktpro. Servers with different servers sucks a bit imo, imagine new players coming to the game (and old players too, for that matter. I don't think everyone keeps track of all these small tweaks) and they don't know what settings are on what server etcetcetc.

Besides, wouldn't such a change affect all the demo analyzing programs out there? :F

any kind of change to the game will be lame... because then there will always be EXTRA whine about the ALTERNATE scenario that COULD HAVE happened. just leave it as it is.

although these discussions are quite interesting, maybe as information for a next-gen quake5 or whatever (cough), but it should not affect qw imho

Simple solution would be -1 always for getting telefragged by anyone, and never score for making the frag. Most of the time telefrag is caused by the one who gets telefragged and the fragger just got lucky.

Not always Kalma, the DM6 MH to GA teleport is quite dangerous to go through and often leads to a telefrag when the other players is in low-center and sees you heading to tele (though pro's won't make those mistakes!). Anyway, it's been this way for this long, why change? We lived with it and we shall live on with it, it's sucky enough to spawntelefrag a teammate with RL/200ra .
Custom maps for the show, episodes for the pro.

I think it doesn't make sense that it didn't give one minus frag back when the game was released already. However, changing such a thing 10 years later doesn't feel quite right either as it might cause the stats generators to be less accurate and the fact that all servers don't use KTX makes it even more doubtful. It sucks ass if we have to play with different rules on different servers tbh. I also think that it's so hard (almost impossible?) to abuse this situation in a real game, as someone tried to give an example of earlier in this thread.

Oh sorry, wasn't very attentive when i read that. If all servers support such a change then it's easier for me to change my opinion. The only thing that makes me hesitant is all the stuff that relies on that particular setting - the stats generators that are no longer updated etc. However, I think it makes sense to change it if most players agree so we can get a change in all the major tournaments there are.
