quad pent ring ssg ng sng gl rl lg ya ra
imo a ga could be there too, but mostly the fact that all weapons and powerups are on the map,
the shape of dm3 which is something like an 8 makes it so fun to jump around in, in game and prewar.
no dead ends or worthless spaces

It's a map that is possible for one player to really dominate, but a good team will most often prevent that, that is what makes it interesting. Sure, you can do that on E1M2 too but sooner or later you'll get gunned down. It's kinda hard to get into a good position on DM3 if you're up vs players who knows what they're doing. It's probably the map that requires the most strategic play of TB3?

I'd say it's a somewhat cultural accident, since there are other maps which could have done the same. And I bet dm3 was not THE map in every QW community.

Having all 4on4 servers set at DM3 as standard might have helped too. :p

DM3 is chosen in 99.99% of all 3on3 or 4on4 matches played in brazilian's servers.

Dm3 has all powerups (except for the rather useless suit) and all weapons available. Out of the Deathmatch maps it features all aspects of the game.

I enjoy several other maps in teamgame but I wouldn't mind dm3 being the ONLY map in a teammatch.

No way! Maybe you're thinking of dm2?

One reason it's the best: The penta turn arounds.
