regarding an older thread of mine about packet loss, I've been getting no luck with comcast.
had the "technician" at my house several times, changed modems/routers like 3 times, and screwed with the wiring etc. No help
I've tried different routers, connections, proxies, modems, everything, and comcast is terrible at negotiating.
Due to me being limited to my selection, I'd just like to get an idea on what you guys in NA use, with adequate connection or no packet loss.
Of course I can live with it, but I'd rather not pay for something that I get poor service from.
Thanks

Try http://dslreports.com

You need to be pretty lucky to get a decent connection (incl. no packet loss, good routing, good pricing, good rates and lacking a policy on bandwidth) in the USA. We're like a third world country when it comes to Internet access, so have fun endlessly researching this. :>

USA is getting shittier and shittier with internet. My ATT DSL used to get 13ms to Chicago and 40ms to East/Texas. Now I get 50ms to Chicago and 70-120ms to East/Texas. Once the FCC rolls over and dies along with net neutrality it's going to get way worse. It's basically luck at this point.

Do you not have fibre connections in the US? Basically every single city in Sweden, big or small, has fibre connections. 100mbit/100mbit is pretty standard.

Actually I have fiber in Boston (Atlantic coast), but you're right that it's barely available anywhere.
