LOL. How can anyone deny using wallhack after that wallhack video was posted. Mindblowingly stupid.

Ban him for life. We don't need morons in qw community. We're not that desperate.

This is a strong rebuke post ... but seriously WTF? Hear me out ...

You are using the honor system? NetQuake has used anti-wallhack directly from FTE Quakeworld for ***6 years***.

Immediatelly, it weeded out several losers in NetQuake that pretended to be good players.

Look, you cannot rely on the honor system. The anti-wallhack in FTE and DarkPlaces would eliminate *ALL* of that. It has been around since the middle of last decade. What is your excuse for not using it? It is almost offensive reading this considering the implementation in NetQuake came from a Quakeworld client.

This is inexcusable -- not that someone cheated, but that you are relying on the honor system. Competitive players look for edges --- he flaw in the video is that he was fooling enough to be looking right at the players he couldn't see. There are fair number of cheaters that are wise enough to behave in a different manner when they are being observed.

The anti-wallhack technology in FTE has been around for the greater part of a decade. It is almost insulting you are not taking advantage of it. (Not you Empezar, the community as a whole). It is almost like you guys do not care about integrity or Quakeworld at all.

This is NOT a natural disaster or OMG he cheated. This is pure bald-face stupidity by the QW community for not using antiwallhack that has been available for years. There is NO excuse for this.

How effective is FTE Quakeworld's antiwallhack in NetQuake:

Be shocked:

Note that this video is from 2007!

Excuses I can think of (I'm not any sort of expert on the discussed feature, tho):
1. As has been pointed out in #19 and #20, the implementation we can see at one of the few public FTEQW servers seems buggy?
Edit: demo: http://demos.quakeworld.nu/download.php?id=128
2. The main difference between QuakeWorld and NetQuake is that the NetQuake server always knows what the current viewing position of the player is, while QW server can only approximate this. This makes server-side anti-wallhack much more effective in NQ than any possible QW implementation of it.
