Have you tried hud_frags_show 0 or hud_teamfrags_show 0?

I'm not at home now so i can't test it myself. You might find valuable reading in the ezQuake manual.

I don´t know if Ake Vaders advice helped or not. When I´m in doubt about the HUD, I just enter the hud_editor, hover over the desired HUD elements to check their names, enter console and then type: hud_"nameofelement" and press tab. This way you will get a list of possible commands for that element.

Thanks guys, got rid of them now. I didn't actually know there's a hud editor inside the client! This game amazes me every time, haha
