Hello.

I have Ubuntu 12.04 (Linux) and when i did install nquake, i replace the pak0.pak with the pak0.pak from the quake expansion Abyss of Pandemonium.
It runs well but when im gonna load a new world in Abyss of Pandemonium it stops and says that the server was killed and cannot download new maps for quakeworld.

How can i just stop the download and make the client to understand that i want to play Abyss of Pandemonium insted?
Thank you.

nquake uses ezQuake which is not a singleplayer engine. Use Quakespasm instead, see http://www.quaddicted.com/quake/recommended_engines for more info.

http://quakespasm.sourceforge.net/download.htm

You also ruined your Quake installation by copying the other pak file over Quake's. Don't do that. Make sure you find the original pak0.pak and copy it back. You do need to buy the full version of Quake to play Abyss of Pandemonium.

I would recommend using the Quake Injector to handle the installation for you, http://www.quaddicted.com/tools/quake_injector. We have a free and bugfixed AOP at http://www.quaddicted.com/reviews/aopfm_v2.html which you could install through it. It is not a very good mission pack anyways, try czg07 or travail or nehahra instead.

nQuake uses ezQuake which is fine for playing most singleplayer mods as long as you type "set sv_forcenqprogs 1" in the console, otherwise you may be missing out on some mod-specific monsters and weapons.

Restore your pak0.pak as Spirit suggested, and instead unpack the contents of the mod into a new subfolder in your Quake folder. Say, "abyss". Then after starting the game, type "gamedir abyss" in the console to enable the mod.

Hi agin!

I've restore the nquake so it works like orginal now.
But where can i place the impel folder? I name it to impel beacuse impel are the creators of Abbys expansion.

I run "GAMEDIR IMPEL" and nothing works. No errors.
I replace the folder impel in nquake/qw and try aign. Nothing happens. No errors.

I also replace the impel folder to ezQuake folder and run "GAMEDIR IMPEL" in the consolle and run sinpelplayer. Nothing happens.

Put the impel folder into your nQuake folder, that is, the folder where you have ezQuake, id1 and qw.
