Hi! My CRT screen has served me well, but it is time for an upgrade!

Going to buy something after work and I am looking for any tips one should think of when buying one (flat screen).
Is there anything special I need for QW? Or Should I just go buy something?

Thank you!

I'd guess you want a 120hz lcd then at least?

Loads of opinions in this thread: http://www.quakeworld.nu/forum/viewtopic.php?id=3728&p=1

The Samsung 2233RZ, Viewsonic VX2265WM, and BenQ XL2410T seems all to be good choices. I can personally vouch for the Samsung for gaming (the colors are a bit crap), but thats the only 120hz lcd I've tested myself. Since this was one of the first of it's kind, I'd suspect there's better, more expensive models out there.

Renzo did a "review" of the BenQ here: http://www.quakeworld.nu/blogs/436/278/

I was going to write a real review but for a reason or another I didn't manage to do it after all.

Anyway, if you want virtually inputlag-less TFT, then there are only two models available that can do this. LG W2363D and BenQ XL2410T, all the other 22" and 23" models have at least 10ms input lag or more and this can easily be detected.

So which one is better out of those two? Hard to tell. XL2410T has more contrast, more vivid colors , darker black and faster panel but it also has overdrive halo ghosting and backlight bleeding on the edges (depends on your luck basically).

I just bought the LG, works unexpectedly well after almost five years of 75 and 60hz. Very cheap also (200e).
