I observed a few players (ie. circle) who had notification messages in their console, whenever they picked up items.
For example you pick up a backpack and it would spam in console "you picked up Rocket Launcher, you picked up 23 Rockets" etc.

Where do I enable/disable this feature? I have it disabled in my config, but It's highly recommended other people disable it, just due to the pure useless spam in console. I went through my config, but I can't seem to find any setting related to it.

setinfo msg 0/1 or just msg 0/1 i think. 0 means you will receive all info.

What? You mean you dont need: pickup flash, sound and text msg to know you picked something up?!
How on earth do you know what stuff you have?

Agreed, I have had textmsg+pickupflash turned off since 90s, sound is the best way to get info in qw anyways

I remember at QHLAN11 I think it was, where some of the LA guys showed up... I think it was Shiva, who had all standard messages, pickup flashes, rollangle and shit... The only changes to his config must have been movement binds, sensitivity and the tp messages - He didn't seem to mind tho
