My monitor has the ability to switch to 5 different modes: Standard, Theater, Game, Night View, Scenery.
I've read Game Mode turns off image processing in some TV's, wich will reduce lag.

Does this apply to LCD monitors ?

No. It just changes brightness, contrast and colors.
