The new Aliens vs Predator game... I hoped that it would be good and well received but there seems to be *A LOT* of complaints about it:

- experience points not in sync with kills you've made
- getting hit while this is impossible (you know the Knight hitting you with sword in Quake while you know he shouldn't be able to reach you... well, similar things but apparently more extreme)
- extreme lag in MP
- stupid AI
- after u make a horrendous kill as an Alien in SP the nearby humans don't even notice (IMO that's unacceptable in 2010)
- Alien moves too slow in comparison with Predator
- Stupid matchmaking system (they hope to have dedicated servers this Monday)
- problems with ranking system
- disconnection problems

etc etc

I only watched youtube vids, and some of it looked pretty neat. But has anyone here actually played the game?

I have played it through, all campaigns. It's acceptable game (especially on harder skill levels) but for some retarded reason all of the playable characters (marine, alien, predator) have the same damn maps playable with slight changes. I mean wtf, the game is 15GB in size! Also as you mentioned, AI is really stupid, especially when you rip someone's head off and his friend is standing 10 meters from you and doesn't see shit (playing a alien).

Rushing alien is really fast, there's no way of running from one. Sadly there are only very few circumstances where AI controlled alien actually runs.

It would have been better if this game wasn't hyped so much, especially in UK media... Rebellion never did any AAA class game, first AVP on PC was mediocre shooter with Aliens and Predator in it, that's all. AVP2 by Monolith is far better experience (in SP, multiplayer doesn't work anymore - master server is down) than both Rebellion titles.

Yeah, I played some AVP2, it was nice although I didn't finish it. But I didn't finish AVP1 either so...

I do remember that I played that AVP1 marine demo back in '99... man, that was scary as hell. I loved it.
