I'm a total linux noob and it seems to me that it's pretty difficult to get your QW running in linux without good knowledge of linux.

I already passed the "ls -al ezquake-gl.glx + chmod 755 ezquake-gl.glx" phase. But I've to wonder why are these commands not mentioned in ezquake's txt-file? I bet there're other newbies aswell who're struggling with this shit.

Atm my problem is that ezquake crashes when I connect to a server. Faustov suggested that it might be due overheating, but on Wine QW runs quite fine (it's somewhat unplayable though).

Any ideas?

Btw, Am I a poor googler or isnt there much info about QW+linux? At least I didnt find almost anything, there's one short "smooth qw in linux" wiki page, but that's pretty much all. #qw.linux didnt help much either.

Thanks.

Aww. what info exactly?

This is new Ubuntu (hardy) installation on which I've installed Kubuntu packages. I'm using fglrx driver, I suppose it's the newest one, and my video card is Radeon Xpress 200.
