Hrm. The mouse will only do ~500hz when you are moving it fast. As soon as you start moving it slower, the hz will drop in that program. Were you moving it fast all the time?

I have a Razer DeathAdder, using Windows XP SP2 (my "own" version, almost everything removed with nLite) with the latest version of the Razor DeathAdder driver installed having no problems with the mouserate, it's always on 500Hz. But maybe it's SP3 that make it work bad for you, been thinking of installing it myself..

I haven't heard of problems with unstable mouse rate on SP3 before. Don't blame SP3!

Me neither, I use SP3 and get 500 Hz - Logitech drivers though.
