I want to play with 500 fps, but its not possible. When iam on a ffa server my fps goes down to 200-300. I have a athlon 3700+, 1gig ram and ati x800. Its more then enough for 500 fps i think.

Do you get stable 500fps if you switch to the fastest gfx preset in ez graphics settings?
I get better FPS with gl_ztrick enabled and running the degeneration-2 alias. Also r_dynamic 0 gives a performance increase.

s_khz 44 (stupid idea, remove this setting totally. You can't add fidelity by playing 11kHz recorded sounds at 44kHz so you are just making sounds sound "incorrect"
s_mixahead 0.1 (try 0.05 to make sounds less "laggy"

You can try changing setting gl_maxtmu2 to 0/1 and see if it has any effect.

Don't forget to use vid_restart after you change gl_ or r_ related settings, they might not take effect otherwise. Same goes for s_ related settings but use snd_restart instead.

Other than that I don't see any other settings that could affect performance hit, at least big one since gl_detail is set to 0. 1000Hz mouse can make higher cpu utilization and less fps. Also if you are on Vista then who knows...
