In regular ezQ I used to use impulse 9 and god on local maps to practice jumps and movements, but in nQ these cheats doesn't work. Why is that? sv_cheats is on.

practise (or practice) didn't work. "unknown command."

You need map reload after enabling cheats, so for example:
sv_cheats 1
map dm2
god

That works with ezQuake 1.9 stable, tested it just now to make sure.

No, restarting the map or doing it before loading the map doesn't work either. In regular ez I never had to configure sv_cheats at all.

my guess is that nQuake ships with frogbot qwprogs.dat now and impulse 9 doesn't work there

Console says "God mode on," when I type "god," but I get no feedback on "impulse 9." Regardless, neither work.

oh wait, thats for doom.

delete qwprogs.dat or replace it by ktx one.

I can't find any files with that name.

This is only true for recent nightlies of ezQuake (most likely due to the new server code in the client), it works fine in 1.9 stable.

EDIT: I was wrong, it doesn't work in stable either.

I reinstalled nQuake into a new folder, without using ANY other files than pak1.pak and the nQuake installer. I opened the client, left all the settings at default, set sv_cheats to 1, opened a map with devmap, set god on, but it still doesn't work. And impulse 9 switches to the axe instead of giving me all the weapons.

Have I misunderstood something?

Edit: It now suddenly worked after I briefly tried the single-player. No idea why.

Edit 2: Cheats now also work on the initial nQuake installation after first enabling cheats on single-player before trying on a multiplayer map.

Case closed.
