have noticed a lot of people dont use setpoint... why ??
in setpoint i have report rate set to 1000.. but thats not mouse hz is it? also have setpoint implentation and game detection enabled with no mouse accel.. is this ideal??
to my understanding i cant get 1000hz on vista at this stage??
basically wanting to know about mouse setup on vista and whether i should be using setpoint. cheers all

AFAIK, the report rate is reports per second so yes, 1000 reports per second is 1000 Hz.
I have a G9 on Vista 64 SP1 (but to get it to work at all, I had to rebuild OS and install setpoint!)
Setting the report rate to 1000 in setpoint does increase the frequency reported by mouserate.exe although it is not a constant 1000 - it will vary between 7 Hz and 2000 Hz.
Don't know if that helps or not?

That seemed to improve things a bit when I tried using Vista.

hey there, recently i started playing qw again, and i had tremendous problems starting it up on my laptop with vista-32 onboard, however i came upon this little fix : http://rapidshare.com/files/192408635/wcafix_20080209.7z
i don't know what it does exactly, im no coder or shit like that, however all i can say is that it saved my qw life :E
props to Aion from Gotfrag (or was it some other service, cant remember sry!) best config for me : no setpoint software ( im using logitech G1), no dinput, in_mouse "1"
hope it helps any of you guys, and i hope that i havent "discovered" ancient history either hehe
cheers

ok, but perhaps this Win32:Rootkit-gen was just used to hack the original windows .sys file to get rid of the accel ? just my guess, but did you actuallly bother to try it out?
edit :
here is the original thread : http://razerblueprints.net/index.php/component/option,com_smf/Itemid,99/topic,6898.0/ people are saying that it's false alarm
