The config system for ezQuake is a mess to me.

I change some stuff from the UI, quit the game, and some of the settings were saved while others just keep resetting. How do I keep them saved?

I've messed around with the config tab settings, but I have't gotten it to work.

Like, for example, I can save the binds, but the UI font size keeps resetting.

http://ezquake.sourceforge.net/docs/?vars-config-management

here you go. everything you need to know is on the manual. take close attention to cfg_save* vars.

to sum it up:

type cfg_save to save your cfg and have it automatically loaded when u start ezquake
type cfg_save name to save you config to a file named name. cfg_load name to load it.
never argue with an idiot. they'll bring you back to their level and then beat you with experience.

I reset my config settings, typed cfg_save in console (it saved to config.cfg), quit the game, and started it up again. Some of the settings just won't stick, unless I manually load the file every time I open the game - like FOV and font size, eg. I set "auto save on quit" on.

There are some reports that auto save on quit is flawed, better not use it.

I always use the menu to save the config!
"save settings" in the config section works just fantastic <3

I reset all my settings and used the "save settings" function, and that worked pretty well, EXCEPT the font size. The weird thing is that I can change the font width, but font height keeps resetting to 200. The default menu font is too large so I'dl like to crank it down a bit.

Update: Ok, turns out there was something funky going on in the command line – not sure what – and everything seems to be fine now. Thanks.
