lol...i signed up just to defend the Lachesis.

FPS games don't even come close to War3 ladder in terms of skill-cap as a gamer. So yes, I've tested this Lachesis on such a game and it works wonders.

Fucking hilarious the skill you can achieve in QuakeWorld is not _possible_ to master not even close, you can't hit the roof of skill in any aspect of the game. Mark my words, a beginner in any game will get beaten the most in QW.
And there's an always evolving of the game play tricks etc going in since '96.

Ok, let's assume that's actually true. But you're not one of the top players in THAT game either, are you?
The same goes for Warcraft 3, the skill-cap is way too high. But to say *any* game's skill-cap "can't" be reached, is ignorant. A game will always have a human-skill-cap due to the physics of the game itself. Until we start having fully realistic, fully detailed and fully interactive virtual reality games that allow you to do whatever you can actually do in real life and then some, we won't be find any game with an "unreachable skill-cap".

Anyways, all this is besides the point.

The original issue I wanted to make a point about was that most of the problems people seem to have experienced with the Razer Lachesis is just them basically not giving it a chance. Like I said, i encountered the same problems in the first minutes of me installing it, when I got it right it was working perfectly. In fact I'm using it right now.

You guys should have just told him to go on any map in CS (which he probably has), lower his sensitivity with the lachesis so it takes more than 10 inches for a 360 turn, use an area for a mousing surface that is at least 20 inches large and have him sweep the mouse across it horizontally. If he says he doesn't get any skipping (or random input or whatever the hell we call it), then he is probably just a Razer marketer :E

Nuff said.

Indeed.

This is a QuakeWorld related forum and you come here to 1) boast about how "great" WC3 is compared to QW and 2) bash our game and 3) get into flamewars.

Wrong place to start flamewars, have a nice vacation. Come back next month if you're more interested in QW and less interested in flaming us.

@ povohat & terrorhead: that's not the way to behave or go into their flamewar attempts.

I agree, I acted inappropriately so I apologise. But this guy doesn't even have qw installed yet he comes here and tells us our game is crap and talks about how awesome he is at war3.

Anyway you guys said what needed to be said while I was sleeping so no more posts here from me

well.. going back to the topic i can tell that i pretty mutch gave up the idea of a new mouse as I did the following steps:

1- i was pretty sure i had no windows acceleration on, but still i've downloaded and applied This Patch.
2 - i've lowered my win sensitivity from 9/11 to 7/11. [ and obviously - NO acceleration ]
3 - i started to close (well halft close it) my mouseware application ( point32.exe ) i used to have it to get both extra buttons to work on qw, but i figured out something weird: if i do close the Mouseware from the task bar, it would still work but in EZQuake but not as if it were the keys i placed on mouseware ( originally PAGEUP / PAGEDOWN ) but it works as it were Mouse 4 / Mouse 5 ! But if i CTRL+ALT+DEL and totally close point32.exe the buttons just won't work at all. I dunno if its a kinda of placebo.. but there's obvious some sort of change there, otherwise the keys wouldn't be changing their functions.. so im closing mouseware as i start windows, but i'm not killing the application on the task manager.
4 - this is the best part..on qw i use in_mouse "1" and have changed in_m_os_parameters from "1" to "3" and noticed a HUGE AWESOME FRIGGIN DIFFERANCE, OMG! now i can actually feel that i'm under total control of my moviments, and now most situations where i used to get so pissed off and was unable to react or aim properly, and get totally owned, and all the pain I often had to hit the enemy is simply GONE as if by some kind of sexy magic. That different value really made me get a feel of total control of my mice.
5 - ordered 6 meters of teflon-ish sticky tape AKA Mouse Skatez.

So thats about it.. i finally got it right to get back in the game.. and now i can say that i'm in peace again with my good and old MS 3.0 and for the happiness of the biggest 3.0 enthusiast - Sassa : i'm loving it !

Cheers.

hehe FatefuL, Im still loving ie 3.0 and use this instructions to get or get rid of acc. http://www.pcmag.com/article2/0,4149,939871,00.asp

The old point32.exe is much better than the new one, I will try to find it for you (give me a few days).
I have to try that in_m_os_parameters! If it is a huge difference or not.
Have u the new ie 3.0 or one of the oldies? I havnt opened the new 3.0 yet, its hanging at home, I just dont dare to get rid of the old 3.0 just yet )

I have the old version .. and its almost 5 yrs old now.. thanks for the link... i could confirm that the values on my register are right.. and yes from the very beginning i've always set that "Enhance pointer precision" off.

about Point32.exe, I'm using an old version of it- Microsoft IntelliPoint 4.0 - from the cd that came with my ms 3.0 back in the days.. i noticed that those new intellipoint were just shit.. (and besides they lack the options of custom keys for mouse 4/5) ..

well i'm damn satisfied now on my mice.. and will most likely use it till the day it dies. )

just updating... i started to use the new EZ 1.9 stable.. and noticed something a bit different with the mouse .... so i tried out many other settings and came to the conclusion that for me in_mouse 3 is the ultimate option on the new client. So in_m_os_parameters no long work for me.. since its nulled by in_mouse 3 option. Also after reading this , i have learn that one should not increase or decrease his sensitivity on windows, since it will make your mouse intentionally skip some tracking.
