I'm using fuhquake 0.31. When i'm jumping i have stable speed gain( example first jump 48x, second jump 52x, third jump 58x)
I dl some newer demos and i saw a strange thing (ex first jump 48x but for a short time speed is almost 52x, second jump 52x but for about 1-2 secs its almost 56x or higher;/)
In second situation the jumps are liitlle bit largrer.
WTF?? is it my client fault or only ezquake and nquake offers it?? Can it be because i'm not using cl_independentphisics??
sry for my english:E

sounds just like you need to practice more ?
and no independent physics won't change a thing

hmm i have no problems to finish almost all trickin maps... so i think my jumping tech is ok this strange adittional speed gain i saw for example in newest kov demos on chtv.Compare it with the older ones and you see difference.

might be a difference in the way show_speed counter itself is being calculated. maybe vertical speed is included or excluded. try comparing the same demo in different clients

I don't think you can actually gain any length to your hops by doing airmovements. I might be wrong though. :-)

what joulukuu, you mean the slalom-move everyone does is not helping?
my guess it helps to a certain level, thinking of jumps I've seen...

It actually does change things a bit.

Taken from the ezQuake docs

At least, don't forget that even independent physics don't bring you absolutely equal physics as if you'd have been using cl_maxfps 77.

The difference is minimal though and the only thing player(s) probably notice is the increased smoothness over "true" 77fps. Depending on the cl_maxfps used there can be small differences especially if maxfps is not a multiplication of physfps (the higher the fps the better, most of the time).

It depends. If you only turn one direction then the length of the jump gets wasted as you don't go directly forward. By changing the direction more often you can go "straight" longer distance while gaining speed even if it looks a bit like drunken walk
