In ezQuake 1.9 we'd like to support other model sets as "legal" (passing f_modified check) than just original models by id software. Yes, finally

Please post suggestions on which model sets should be supported. It is necessary that you post a download link, if we won't be able to download those models, they won't be supported. Link should also contain screenshots.

Please be reasonable too. We don't promise we will accept everything.

Accepted suggestions:
- Debug 3D models - faithfull -
- Plague's pack
- Ruohis models (only armor)

New models would be cool indeed!
Will EZQ 1.9 also be available for mac os X 10.4 (Tiger)? I have 1.8 now for Tiger, and it works perfect.

ostx: Don't go offtopic...

These two should be obvious but I will still post them.

Sorry, I don't know who the original author is or whether they are the models Spirit already mentioned but the v_* and g_* model stuff which is included in the nQuake package would be nice to have.

I also think that whatever gets picked as "legal" should be what is/will be included in nQuake, so you're ready to go play (in leagues) after downloading the package

I've added debug, plagues' pak and ruohis models as legal for f_modified into ezQuake 1.9 branch. For ruohis only armor.mdl is there, because other models are in md3 format, support for that format might be added later.

Please test!

i was thinking about this, and wondering -- i know you can edit binary .mdl files but it is a lossy process and so it would be nice if these model sets were 'officially' released under [L]GPL licenses and included their source files (e.g. in 3D Studio Max, Lightwave etc. format)

this way they will never be lost and can be tweaked and modified in the future, e.g. to produce matching vwep models or to produce the 'unified' models that ktx/ezquake/mvdsv/zquake intend to support -- being kept in sync with the f_modified authorised key

(obviously this cannot currently be done for the 'debug 3d models' as they are direct edits of id's .mdl files and we do not currently have the sources for those, but for any other models it _should_ be possible / desirable

Does anyone had any idea where nquake's end2.mdl, end3.mdl, end4.mdl might be from? Those are the only missing to make nQuake pass f_modified check again (quite important issue for newcomers)

g_models from this pack should be added:

http://fps.network-hosting.com/quakeworld/deathmatch_pack.zip

Prime says that these are different from old debugs and have different uvmap, so his sweet skins made for new models won't work with old debugs (and vice versa, i think simple skins for g_ models released some time ago won't work with new debugs).

My english isn`t so good to talk with people on random topics. Due to this fact, I prefer to just read.

This will need some dig-in (if it's me who's going to do that) as those models are md3 which requires some different approach than for mdls. And it's not going to have high priority, sorry.
