I would go with:

- FRAPS (Capturing *.AVI files)
- Adobe Premiere (Editing and Encoding)

But I'm a noob movie maker so plz reply with the best programs to use!

don't use fraps
use ezQuake: demo_capture start 99999 <name>.avi
settings: demo_capture_mp3 "0"
demo_capture_codec ""
demo_capture_fps "whatever you like"

editing: I don't know premiere but most and quakeworld moviemakers use Sony Vegas 5.0(from what I've heard)
compressing: virtualdub

hmm ok, as peppe mentioned about virtualdub for compressing, i wont talk about it, either of vegas.

If u want some nice animations(effects) u should u Discreet Combustion 4 or/and Adobe After Effects.

And about fraps, dont use it, ezquake has really good capturing system

zomg warez HAXX adobe after effects have like A LOT of plugins you can downlo.. err, buy! and do almost anything you want with, so try that out konkie :} (DO NOT DOWNLOAD; PLEASE PURCHASE EVERYTHING)

Getting back on the topic, is there some way to replay backwards the MVD demos for example, or record from a mvd playback to be able to save only good moments. is there usefull scripts to use under eZ for movie editing, tips and all?

nope. he doesn't have the codecs installed correctly so EZQuake can detect and use them

use Virtual Dub to blend the frames into a movie

I had that problem before until I changed to this

I usually use Snagit for movie capture and I'm very satisfied. Its very easy to use. After capturing I use virtual dub to convert between formats.
