Im using 1280x960 atm with conwidth/height 320x240. Ive tried con 640x480 but that makes the hud too small imo. is there a way to get something in between. I'm thinking of 480x360 for example, or is that totally wrong? I am at wrk now so i cant try

use anything that is the same 1.3 ratio
e.g., 512 x 384, 400 x 300

With 1.3 ratio u mean x*0.75 ?

sooo 480x360 works for res 1280x960 as they are: 640*0.75 = 480 and 480*0,75 = 360
EDIT: Tried it and it felt wierd, con 640x480 wrkd better even though it was pretty small

it works better because the conchars texture is resampled by a power of 2, there was a full write up on the old fuhquake forums explaining this
320x240 anre 640x480 are your best bets because of this - but you _can_ use the other sizes if you get used to them

It's always best to use a ratio of whole numbers if you want the hud/charset to look good.
