I am searching for a competent Eggdrop administrator to help me create a nifty eggdrop for #quakeworld channel.
I wrote this up few years back:
About:
Having a bot on #QuakeWorld to relay news headlines and match results
from various sites will spice up the channel.
It will help give the channel activity and be a nice service
for people idling.
It's both convinient and cool to have the headlines, relevant results
and quake client/server/mod updates posted directly and live
to the main channel of QuakeWorld.
Features:
-----------------------------------------------------------
EGGDROP_________:
auth in Q -
hidden host - +x
-----------------------------------------------------------
POST RESULTS____:
duelmania - http://duelmania.quakeworld.nu/xml/last10games.php?sec=de (where de is country code. complete list: de dk fi hu nl no pl pt ru se uk tm kenya)
eql - don't have rss yet
nqr - don't have rss yet
FORMAT: - [player1 x - x player2] - [ url ]
-----------------------------------------------------------
POST NEWS_______:
quakeworld.nu - http://quakeworld.nu/rss/news.php > need rss feed (?)
- http://quakeworld.nu/rss/forum.php > need rss feed (?)
quakeblog.de - http://quakeblog.qu.funpic.de/blog/rss.php
qwdrama etc.
FORMAT NEWS: [ Title of news ] - [ url ]
FORMAT FORUM: [ New Topic ] by [ user ] - [ url ] (rss needs to be updated to support output of user who posted)
-----------------------------------------------------------
POST DEMOS______:
challenge-tv - no rss yet
format: [player1 vs player2] [pov: mvd] [map: dm2] [mode: 1v1] [url: ]
-----------------------------------------------------------
NOTES:
The url for duelmania last10.php dosen't work. But it would just be an RSS feed to show last 10 games, and we can hopefully spread this format.rss to all tournaments so we can get results from more tournaments and easily add more to the bot.
Shaman originally tried to help me with this, but he wen't all loco on the qw community and dissapeared somewhere. So if you think you are up for the task give me a call =)
Needless to say you need to know your way around eggdrop, tcl scripts and what else is required to run a cool bot =)
