It's for me much more profitable to have a person who can arrange all the needs I want But as said the second server is mvdsv + ktx no worries.

but more ports is great - I kinda "don't agree" on 2 ffa ports tho - what about one with small kurwa maps (27501) and 27500 with "regular" maps? just a thought, i think it would be cool: if i wanna play diferent maps i would go to 27501 (these maps can't be too big because that isn't the 'main' port)

and, from a n00b's pov: wtf is xs4all?

here's a suggestion that Jaco made on the server:
there should be a "skilled" port with only id maps, aero and ztn, playerlimit 8.

i think it's an excellent idea. if you had a) a newbie port (right now it's 27501 i believe) b) the standard port for general, 18 player ffa myahem *and* c) the "skilled" port you would have a much more balanced and fun xs4all. people could choose what game experience they want or how much effort they want to invest. it would be a good way to expand the popularity of the xs4all ffa server at least to some other ports on the same server.
for this to work it would be crucial to advertise the other ports in the motd or in a servermessage.

i think this could work really well once people get used to this. you could join the main port, then, once it gets to crowded or the skill difference between players becomes too big, some players just switch to either the rookie or the "skilled" port.

well, the typical skilled oldschool-player isn't very kenya friendly. the rookie-port right now has a pretty large mappool with lots of kenya, which i like, but the counterpart should be very puristic. something along the lines of dm2, dm4, dm6, e1m2, aero, ztndm3 + a few more, but it should be classical, tested stuff.

I support Deus' idea! I avoid FFA servers atm because of the many unknown maps. and unfortunatelly i have no patience to learn these maps
there would be good a server with classic map pool

OMG do you wanna play FFA on a server with no custom maps? you prefer to play the same old maps that we've being playing team matchs for the last 10 years, instead of learn how to play in the new ones?

an additional port would only give players the opportunity to *choose* if they want to play there, not prevent them from playing new maps.

if there was to be a "skilled" port then it would make sense to have those "same old maps". the level of play on these maps is much higher than on kenya maps, simply becuase they have been practised for a long time. if there are new maps with a similar high standard of play they should be added of course!
or put in 2 or 3 kenya maps and hope that the leet oldschool quakers don't notice and become really good on them

for smaller maps as dm4 or aero i think playerlimit 8 is really enough. after that it feels crowded, to me at least.
about timelimit i'm not so sure but 10 or even 12 minutes sounds fine.

would be good to have some more input from experienced players that would like to see a classic or skilled port or whatever you want to call it.

but yeah, that sounds good, all in all. should make for a good change from standard xs4all gameplay. it also would help a lot if this was in some form advertised on the main port. right now i often see rookie players on the main port and i don't think many of them are aware that there's a rookie port.

would be really cool to see that implemented, thks for listening

Leaving pkeg1 out would be a mistake I think. And do NOT replace ultrav with four. Also timelimit should be 12 and maxplayers 10 at minimum.

My vote is that leave out Ultrav and put Pkeg1 into the above mentioned map pool. I would put into dm3 and e1m2 also

+1 vote for pkeg instead of ultrav. the problem i see with maxplayers 16 is that it's likely to end in a spamfest. maps like powder keg are designed for "small ffa" (quoting from the .txt file). fewer players puts more emphasis on individual skill and gives you a bit more space to move. my vote is for maxplayers 10 at most.

pm_ktjump is still 0. Don't wait 'til you realize you can't do a tube-to-GL rj on dm6 with the current setting.

I dunno the map pool on the rookies port but it should contain bo5 + maps that are known on other games (that have been ported to qw or vice versa).

most noobs come from other fps, and its rewarding to play in a map we know for years and to win (for a change)
