Maybe someone can help:
I have finally found back one of the "CH-SD2" CD's. But now I have a problem: it seems like on modern Windows, the browsers don't want to open the files as HTML anymore. At least, the files that are named *.html display fine, but those called *.php3 show as a plain text file. I am pretty sure it used to work on Windows 98 or whatever the then standard version was.

All files properly state that they contain html too, saying <!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"> as the first line.
And the problem is there for both IE and Mozilla (1.7.1).

Any suggestions?

Jj

[I just checked and in Opera it actually works!]

Nevermind; I checked on a different PC and there it works in both IE and Firefox.

Guess I am now looking for somewhere to host a 650MB file

Feel free to upload to shub-hub.quaddicted.com (password: ilovetheshubhub) if that is something Quake-related (and no demos).

It is the compilation of the Challenge Smackdown 2 season that we released on CD. The idea was to raise some funds for a HD replacement in the Challenge server back then. We actually managed to sell about 10 copies too.

So the volume is mostly demos, but they are all nicely linked to match reports, interviews, whatever. There was even some 'exclusive content' there, most of which I think I have since released online anyway.

Would that still be OK or rather not?
