History

FZ was previously known as Fragzone and started out as a news site dedicated to Quake back in 1996. The founder was Göran "Phat" Fröjdh who ran the site at the address Quake.Torget.se, a service supplied by the swedish mail company "Posten" (eng: "The mail"). He later on had to move out of Torget due to the admins at Posten not being too happy about the gibbing going on at FZ - it was considered to be too violent.

As the time went on and many people moved on to Quake's younger brothers, FZ also changed the content on the site to encompass both the newer games in the series as well as other PC games. Today they cover the modern console platforms too, like Playstation 3, XBox360 and Nintendo Wii. They have received the award "Best swedish gaming site" numerous times and is definitely one of the best gaming sites for a swede to visit.
