Introduction

Match report

DM3

GLX: 175 - ARD: 36
Glx-ard-dm3.jpg
Map pick by Armageddon.

Demos: supa (GLX)

"Both maps were played on quake.telekom.ru, a rather strange server without skinforcing and with a minimum rate of 9000 ... GLX agreed to play anyway and it was off. One of ARD's players apparently had a glitch in his proxy or something, because he immideately began shooting at his teammates before he realized his misstake. ARD stopped playing and asked for a restart. Spectalk was of, so we admins couldn't say a thing (and it was really not our choice anyway). GLX didn't seem very interested in letting go of their good start ... but as all ARD players dropped, they stopped the game. ARD came back on server and thanked them for being gentlemen in their manours ... hehe.

So, it was started again: GLX grabbed the first Pent. I don't know what side got the quad but it seems as if it was short-lived in any case. With the pent guarding the rl-box, GLX were allready gaining a modest lead over ARD. ARD managed to take the next quad however and were fighting back. With 18 minutes to go, GLX were up by only five frags and attacked and took Quad. The fighting was raging all over the level, ARD concentrating their efforts around RL/water/bridge. GLX had their guys posted waiting for the next quad-damage as ARD snuck in and stole it in a nice maneoveur. GLX had been keeping a firm grip on RA though, and it was paying off. With 16 minutes to go, GLX had a lead of 20 frags and were in control of the level; taking the quads and holding the armors. By now, there wasn't much ARD could do to get back. They fought on, doing some damage here and there, but essentially the game was lost from them around the fifth minute of the game. They nicked a few GLX layers with discharges in the water ... but that was about it from then on. GG both teams." -Ego

DM2

GLX: 294 - ARD: 25
Glx-ard-dm2.jpg
Map pick by Galaxy.

Demos: isotee (GLX)

"GLX started of by taking the quad with a perfect quad-ladder. Still ARD seemed to be getting the upper hand as they actually took the lead. GLX seemed a bit surprised, but soon recovered, got some armour and prepared a comeback. They made a quick series of attacks, claiming the low-rl and the tele/high-rl. Then they started quadrunning. Holding the tele/high and sending quads into low-rl. It soon became apparent who was going to win this match as Galaxy had complete control of the level. ARD was still figting and took a few frags in the low-rl and around tele. But otherwise it was all Galaxy. From watching both ARD and ED on DM2 I can only conclude that the Russians need to play more on this map. Then again ... we Swedes use to say that Finns are born on DM2 =].

GG!" -Ego
