The Subsurface ladder now has an IRC channel on Quakenet. The channel you should join is #Subsurface to have a chat with other competitors on the ladder. An additional feature that the channel provides is that the Subsurface bot in there will announce when a player join any of the 1on1 ladder queues on the website. This should make it easier for players to monitor the activity in the establishment phase which should see a lot more games played for the valuable ladder points!

This week it's time for playoff in the European Quake League and while there have been some great games played in the group stages, there shall be even greater games to come in the knockout stages.

The grand final of Thunderdome 3 will take place tonight (Monday) at 22:00 CEST. The players who will face off in a best of five maps series are Bps and Locktar from clan Suddendeath.

A couple of years ago one could see him playing QuakeWorld in the division 1 team TeamKillers and while not that active in QuakeWorld currently, Daniel "ddk'" Kapadia still posseses great knowledge about the game that he shares whenever the opportunity is given. In a lengthy video interview Thorin has put him up against the wall, handling topics such as strategical thinking and self-improvement in gaming, QuakeWorld and eSports commentary among other things.

For quite some time Willgurht has been working on his QuakeWorld ladder project which will enable players to play 1on1 against equally skilled players on their claim to ladder fame. The ladder has now got a name - Subsurface - and the great news is that it is now in open beta stage for everyone of you to try out!

The Qwenya team, commanded by Jissse, are now back with another edition of their custom map tournament. This time they are hosting a one day 2on2 tournament in the beginning of May.

We've all known tVS to be one of the most dominant teams the last couple of years. They've won basically everything, and with Milton as their ace player, there's not a soul in QuakeWorld who is unfamiliar with their achievements.

However, the last couple of EQL's have been played without the participation of the tVS team. Now they have returned, looking to grab first place in Division 1 once again.

I took the time to interview the tVS members about their comeback in the EQL and their general thoughts about QuakeWorld.

"After a while I'm back with another QW movie.
This one has been made mainly to have fun with the synchronization on a track I like, and to use the camera tool from ezQuake.

For the North American QuakeWorld players out there it has been revealed that Blaze organizes one day duel tournaments that features one specific map per tournament at a few occasions per week. The tournaments are open for North American players and the best way to get in touch with the organizers and players is on the #qw.na IRC channel on Quakenet.
