Tiba
(a.k.a fires, a.k.a stryker)

- Status: QW Old Guard, Part-Time Rocket Launcher Enthusiast
The Origin Story (Circa 2000)
It all began in the 4th grade. A friend showed me a mysterious game after school. One look at the rocket jumps and gibs, and I was a goner—hopelessly addicted to Quake. I cut my teeth in the brutal arenas of NetQuake (NQ) under the alias Stryker, where legends like Faker and Mint would routinely hand out free lessons in humility. I took those lessons… repeatedly.
The Great Migration (Circa 2007)
When the NQ community began to fade, I made the leap to QuakeWorld. Though I briefly tried out the nickname fires, it didn’t stick—my real-life nickname, tiba, was already how my closes friends knew me, and it felt right to carry that identity into the game. So, almost immediately, tiba became my permanent ingame persona. I adapted to the new speeds and maps, and never looked back.
The Hiatus & The Glorious Return
Life happened around 2011, and I hung up the rocket launcher. But the call of Quake is eternal! I returned in 2019 with a new mission: not just to frag, but to help breathe life back into the Brazilian community. My goals are to bring old players back, welcome new ones, help bridge the gaps between continents, organize new events, and take on a leadership role. My ultimate dream? To one day help send a Brazilian crew to experience the madness of QHLAN!
My QW Reality
I've always had a competitive fire, but playing in Brazil is like bringing a super shotgun to a water balloon fight. Our community is small, wonderfully fragmented, and consists mostly of other seasoned veterans. While I'm trying to spice things up, our primary goals remain simple: to frag, to laugh, to relive the glory days, and to occasionally remember where we left the rocket ammo. It’s a beloved pastime—a digital hobby where we can all pretend we’re not too old for this.
I'm just here for the frags, the fun, and the friendship. See you on the server… try not to shoot me in the back (too often).
