Welcome back to the 21st season of EQL. I am glad to see 12 teams plus a special team from Division Ninety Nine since it tells me there is a little life left in this old game.


Regular season

The regular season will start today and end on April 17th. This gives the teams 10 weeks to play 12 games, something that should be doable.

All teams will play in the same division but the playoffs will be divided into A, B and C playoffs in order to make the playoff games even, more exciting and fun for the teams involved. This also means that all teams will reach the playoffs.

All teams meet once in a best of three game. In a game each team pick their own map and if a decider is needed there will be either a TB3, a tossing procedure or an agreement between the clans.

The map pool will be DM2, DM3, E1M2, CMT1b, CMT3, CMT4 as decied by votes from the clans. The D99 special team did not get a vote as they already got votes in their regular teams.


Picking maps in regular season games

TB3 case

If both teams played a TB3 map and the game is tied 1-1 you have two options. Either you play the last TB3 as decider or you play a map both clans can agree on.


Mixed case

If one team played a TB3 map and the other played a CMT and the score is 1-1 you have two options. Either you toss one map each from the TB3 maps and play the remaining one as decider or you play a map both clans can agree on.


CMT case

If both teams played a CMT map and the score is 1-1 you have three options.
1. You toss one map each from the TB3 pool and play the remaining one as decider.
2. You toss one map each from the CMT pool and play the remaining one as decider.
3. You play a map both clans can agree on as decider.

If you cant agree wich pool to toss from then the toss will be from the TB3 pool.

Both picking and tossing order can be decided with the cnd rnd command on the server if you cant agree who shoud pick or toss first.


Special team

Division Ninety Nine has signed up with 3 regular teams this season and they have tried to distribute their skill evenly to make it more fun for all the players involved. However, in order to really compete with the mid skilled teams this season I have allowed their best players to form a 4th team wich will also play against all the teams in the division. The players in this team will have special names in order to separate their progress in this team from their progress in their regular teams.

I do urge them to use their players from the other D99 teams when they play against one of the D99 teams. For example use the players from D99B&C when playing vs D99A to try and make the games more even.


Playoffs

The playoffs will begin directly after the regular season and will hopefully end before mid May. Something like April 18th to May 8th.

The teams on place 1 through 4 will reach the A playoffs where #1 will play against #4 in semifinal 1 and #2 will play against #3 in semifinal 2.

Winners will meet in the final and losers will meet in the bronze game.

All games are best of 5. The first 3 maps will be TB3 and if more maps are needed the team trailing 1-2 will pick a map from the whole pool. If a 5th map is needed the team who had a 2-1 lead will pick the last map from the whole pool.


B playoffs

The teams on place 5 through 8 will reach the A playoffs where #5 will play against #8 in semifinal 1 and #6 will play against #7 in semifinal 2.

Winners will meet in the final and losers will meet in the bronze game.

All games are best of 5. The first 3 maps will be TB3 and if more maps are needed the team trailing 1-2 will pick a map from the whole pool. If a 5th map is needed the team who had a 2-1 lead will pick the last map from the whole pool.


C playoffs

The teams on place 9 through 13 will reach the C playoffs.

Team 9 will qualify for semifinal 1 where they will meet the winner of the quarterfinal between team 12 and team 13. Team 10 and 11 will meet in semifinal 2.

The winners of each semifinal will meet in the C playoffs final and the losers will meet in the bronze game.

All games are best of 5. The first 3 maps will be TB3 and if more maps are needed the team trailing 1-2 will pick a map from the whole pool. If a 5th map is needed the team who had a 2-1 lead will pick the last map from the whole pool.
