There is a utility that allows you to change the BSP version number to work with regular quake. I dont have it, but i remember using one a long time ago.

edit: found it, called QVER. Ran it on test1.bsp, test2.bsp and test3.bsp from qtest, and they still don't work in regular quake. test1 and test2 give me a "Host_Error: Mod_LoadPlanes: funny lump size in maps/test1.bsp", and test3 just crashes quake completely.

For $20 I will upgrade your ezQuake to play *test*.bsp right out of the box

Instead of make ezQuake able to play those maps, wouldn't be better if you could make them compatible with the actual bsp specification? (I have no ideia if it's possible to decompile the maps)

Edit.: I was actually thinking about Quake Pre-Release, not Qtest!

Weren't those maps crappy as hell anyways?
You could try some of the feature-overkill engines like FTEQW or Darkplaces, maybe they can load those older protocol maps.

Me! 5 seconds using QVER!

Changed version 28 to 29!

Maps from qtest are version 23 and they do not work after changing to 29, not even Quark was able to open them!

Yeah i tried the v23 maps from qtest, your ones are from the pre-release, which doesnt have dm maps as far as I remember?

This is our first severely limited pre-release, not intended for the
general public. If you received this game from a member of id Software,
then you are supposed to have it, otherwise, you are in possession of
something which is not yours. You Are Bad.

Funny, I already had that different end map. John Romero released that map a while ago, including the map sources for all quake levels.

Run QTest in DOSBOX using OpenGL or Direct3D to display graphics and then use FRAPS or something equvilient to make a video of it.
