Hey guys, if anyone has a map request for textures let me know, please specify what theme you would like with the map, be aware sets may take a while etc, and depending on how many maps people want done etc.

themes should be stuff like
- faithful
- modern
- medieval
- simple
- crazy


you get the idea, just state the idea you have for the map textures, also make sure you include a link to the map, incase i dont have it.
Also make sure you let me know if you want the textures high res or low res.

Its not finished yet, im thinking about changing the floor, im unsure to what yet, maybe a smaller stone floor, or dirty.
what does everyone else think

You should do a texture set for Ultrav. It's a popular map, yet there aren't any high-res textures out there for it! A faithful set would be great.

Just started, this one will take a while, some of the textures are complex and drawing them becomes painfully tedious.

Hopfully i will get a few more textures done today, bad news is my house got broken into and i had some stuff stolen, i have to do alot of stuff today, so the ultrav textures will be on hold for a day or so while i get all this crap sorted out bank cards insurance etc, hopfully ill have a release by the end of the week.

No problem man, I think we all understand. I hope the man who robbed your house trips and falls into a vat of toxic sludge.

Excluding robberies and other RL junk, quality textures take time anyway.

Edit: By the way RaRe, the Ultrav textures are from the Quake Mission Pack #2: Dissolution of Eternity, also known as "Rogue". Completing this texture set means people can also use them when they play the mission pack. If you want, I can figure out which textures Ultrav doesn't use from the mission pack. This way, you can complete the remaining textures in the set if you like. There are many maps out there that use these Egyptian textures as well. It would be sweet to be able to play the mission pack and all the custom maps with a high-res Egyptian set.

Edit#2: I went through and found most of the Egyptian textures in the Rogue mission pack that are not included in Ultrav for you. Most of these are tombs and decorations, but a few are normal walls.

There is also the Maya texture set, which has about 23 textures in it (also from the Rogue mission pack). Ultrav uses one texture from this set. Incase you are interested, I zipped the entire Maya set for you as well. Many maps out there use this texture set as well. It's actually one of my favorite.

Yeah, I almost forgot about the Rome set. Basically, most maps out there combine a theme of Egypt/Maya/Rome in one. Such examples (besides the ones already mentioned) are Chesdm1, gmdm10, Croctear, and many others. I've browsed through many of the Rogue maps and extracted all the Rome textures I could find. Download the Rome set here:

While browsing through the Rogue maps, I also noticed many other textures that could fit in any of the three main themes. I'm just not sure which ones they go with (Maya, Rome, or Egypt). They were taken from Rogue, and I'm sure they are used in custom maps as well. I uploaded them separately for you. If anyone thinks I missed any textures or categorized any wrong, then please correct me.

If you are going to do all these sets, then you might want to look in the Rogue Mission pack to make sure I got them all. I believe the maps r2m1-r2m6 and start.bsp all use Egypt/Rome/Mayan themes. Each of these textures are used in popular user maps out there. Completing these 3 sets would cover a butt-load of user maps, as well as the Mission packs. It would be completely awesome if you did it.

I would love futuristic/alien-inspired textures on dm6 and some sort of hm.. same thing on dm2 and i think that the crazy and modern tags fit here then :] also that ultrav tex looks ybernice. reminds me of milla and big bada boom !

Yeah, very nice job indeed! What skybox are you using there?

Maybe you can use more flashy skybox for a better contrast between map and sky, just my opinion no offense...

The Purple Chaos skybox is most definitely the prettiest one out there. However, I think the skybox RaRe chose suits the Egyptian theme rather well.

Personally, I want to see some high-res textures for maps that don't yet have them. A complete Egypt, Rome, and Maya set would be completely awesome, because it would cover so many custom maps.
