We have finally played KTK1 vdm3 and now looking forward to KTK2 we dont know what map to choose.

What map is a good tourney map?

Give your opinions of a good map, I have heard that blessed, pkeg2, spinev2, rwild, rf2 are good maps just to say some..

but as you all know, im not a 1on1 player so I dont got a clue about maps.. dont let me choose blindly.

KTK2 will be played 27 of mars (tuesday, surprised?) and the map will be chosen Tuesday 20 of mars, and thats the date the signups will open.

for server details etc will be later on when KTK2 signups starts, so dont start babling about it now, and a new system will come up aswell that will make this experience much better ) was abit hectic at #kenya ?

Now over to your thoughts and some maps here, dont know any of them

I've only really tried spinev2 of those mentioned, it's good but maybe inertias spinev3 is better?

i'm for ztndm4

the items are placed pretty balanced.. RL + RA in one main room, RL + MH + YA in the other main room.
and the shaft being under water makes it more interesting since you have to take a little risk to get a hold of it..
=> the shaft pool becomes another focal point in the map

uh wtf, if shaft is in water you can basically force a discharge if you are in the lead.

Will the map be kepy secret until the day of the next ktx or will it be better to give people a week to get to know their way around the new map. Probably get more signups by giving advance notice of the map.

Whens the newbie/Div6 version of ktk ? :-)

I think you can discharge even if shaft would be outside of water

Wow Head-shot indeed looks promising. And Warfare2 looks cool too. What about VDM3V2 ? Anyone want to try it ? Seems more balanced now!

My two suggestions are slip and head-shot.
Isn't it time for a poll soon?

i've played around a bit on some of the "new" maps suggested. it's a bit hard to appreciate the map balance before we get games going where both players know the map really well, but here is my view from trying them out a bit in a few duels.

---

ztndm1/dm2 was boring to play, ztndm2 didn't feel like it fit the qw physics at all, just felt annoying. i had more fun playing ztndm4-6 which looks a bit more promising. ztndm5 is spawn-fraggy, but still fun and plays fast. i'm gonna play some more games on ztndm6 which i think has the most potential of the ztn-maps.

slip looks promising too, could be really good but needs some redesign to make it harder to attack ya from upper hand. maybe Molgrum's suggestion of removing the closest passage to ya (ga -> ya) will do it? and maybe switching top ga with ya?

head-shot is a kind of flat map that works basically on one level, which makes it very dependent on aim. didn't felt that interresting (not a bad map tho).

dad seems okay, also a bit flat. not one of the best candidates maybe. might play a bit like dm2, but without the option to camp teles. map of strategy. this is worth a closer look.

then we got 3ebluebeta. it's a small map with lots of action. a bit like dm4 but with no places to rest. stressful! ...and fun. try this one out!
3egreenbeta seems nice. also a compact map with some teles and several levels with cool design. check it out also. promising!

---

btw, the 3e-maps might not download within the client for some reason, so get then here if that's the case: http://negative.net.tc/files/3Ebetas1.zip

I tnink its good idea to play on cpm maps
for ex. cpm3qw or cpm5qw
maybe few cpm palyers will be interested in such competition
i think its pretty cool to see qw players in home game. and cpm players on home map

examples
cpm player vo0 playing qw on cpm3qw
http://www.challenge-tv.com/index.php?mode=demodetail&demo=21931
(if you've got cpm installed you can watch gameplay in cpm http://www.challenge-tv.com/index.php?mode=demodetail&demo=26721)

i think if we post news about this on any cpm forum, we will get a great show

Maps that have potential IMHO:

3ebluebeta fast paced map, interesting fights with the water being there, only one rl makes it a bit tougher too. ra and mega is maybe kinda close but we'll see if that's a problem. and don't forget the cool mushrooms on the map!

3egreenbeta just tried this once and i really like the flow there, smooth gameplay and interesting new places like the mega (same as vdm3, one-way door).

dad an okay map, may have potential, it's a bit defensive if you're into that.

head-shot kinda interesting map, as swi said it relies much on aim, but it's a very bunny friendly map so it still has potential of being a hunting map or rljumping quickly to ra and fighting it out. ya+mega vs ra, it's interesting.

I won't recommend slip just yet, since I think it would be better to play the modified version of it.
