Refragged was founded by [[Åke Vader]] back in 2001 or 2002 when he thought the current Quakeworld sites were lacking. There have been three or four versions of the site and many helpful quakers volunteered for the crew along the road. The site started out as a coding project when the chief editor (Åke Vader) wanted to learn some server side scripting and the first version was built with ASP. Later on he advanced to PHP and thus needed somewhere else to host the site as his current host couldn't supply such a service. His help came from the nice fellows over at [http://www.fz.se www.fz.se] who gladly hosted his site, despite it being in english when [[FZ]] themselves was a swedish site.

History

Refragged was founded by Åke Vader back in 2001 or 2002 when he thought the current Quakeworld sites were lacking. His help came from the nice fellows over at www.fz.se who gladly hosted his site, despite it being in english when FZ themselves was a swedish site.

The site was quite a success when the last version of it was launched. It was a nice and probably a much needed competitor to QuakeWorld.nu which was (and still is) the main Quakeworld site back then. The strengths of Refragged was their thorough interviews, good news flow and humble crew.

Between 2006-2009 the site was down, but was revived in late 2009 again in time for QHLAN13.
