QuakeCon is back!

Fame, glory and a place in the history books is on the line because this year, we're celebrating 25 years of QuakeWorld, and what better way to celebrate than with a QuakeCon QuakeWorldaversary tournament? That name grew on me over all those weeks of planning so I had to include it in the announcement post.
Due to the state the world is in, we will once again be playing from home for what is hopefully the last year of not being able to see each other in Dallas!

This year will feature a duel tournament designed to allow anyone regardless of skill level, or location, to participate and get plenty of games in, utilizing a double elimination bracket to ensure survival in the tournament even if you hit a hard opponent in the first round!
The tournament will be played on three separate days in order to progress to the Grand Finals which will be played and broadcast on the Big Screen at QuakeCon 2021!

Dates and times
QuakeCon is a North American tournament which means time slots will cater towards North American time zones. Expect to wake up early if you're Australian, or stay up late if you're European.
As mentioned above, the tournament will span over three separate days - Saturday the 7th of August, Saturday the 14th of August and the Grand Finals to conclude it all at QuakeCon the 19th of August. How long the two prelim days will be is entirely dependent on the amount of signups. Expect more details as we get closer.

August 7th: Tournament begins at 3:00pm EDT / 21:00 CEST / 5:00am AEST (SuddendeathTV)
August 14th: Tournament resumes at 3:00pm EDT / 21:00 CEST / 5:00am AEST (SuddendeathTV)
August 19th: Grand Finals at 8:00pm EDT / 02:00 CEST / 10:00am AEST (QuakeConcommunity, broadcast by Andeh and Jehar)

Rules
Full list of rules is available on the QWiki.

Servers
All games will be played on dedicated QuakeCon servers.
There are four servers strategically placed around the United States to allow people from all continents to participate at QuakeCon: Los Angeles, Dallas, New Jersey and Miami. All games including Europeans will be played in New Jersey, all games including Australians will be played in Los Angeles, and all games including Brazilians will be played on Miami. Games between North Americans will be played where it makes most sense. There will be staff available to direct players to the correct servers.

And finally, how do I sign up for this awesomeness?
First, make sure that you clear your schedule on all three (3) days, then simply fill out the sign-up form which can be found here:
https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdNyg-f8Dowj5_SebCpm2hhe0ehhJIuxRF3iaS9cvO63uMrTQ/viewform

I strongly encourage you to sign up, regardless of skill level! QuakeCon is always one of the best times of the year, and QuakeWorld is turning 25. That calls for celebration!

If there are any other questions regarding the tournament, my DMs are open, ask me anything!

Here's to an amazing QuakeCon!!!

Cheers and happy 25 years of Quake!
