Welcome to our beloved qw.nu forum, Havoq!

Unfortunately, i don't have any solution to your problem. Have you tried changing graphic drivers, or started software or something? Isn't the fQuake package enough to satisfy your desires?

actually i don't think fquake would be enough, i always used def's setup (the old one) since i started playing qw seriously. I don't have the time to write cfg's and stuff. With the old setup i just had to change a couple of things and everything was fine to play.. it was perfect to start with the game again after a long break

any idea where to find the old setup??

Try setting your monitor to 75hz on your desktop before entering quakeworld, that might help.

AFAIK, the .bat files for the NEW def's setup (EzQuake) use 800x600 at 75hz. You might be using a refresh lock program and forgot to change the resolution.

Try the new package. http://quakeworld.nu/forum/viewtopic.php?id=1023
If you still have problems try changing the resolution and refresh rate in the command line to something else, however I think the problem is with your graphics drivers and or OS. Make sure you have the latest Nvidia drivers (84s are outdated).
