I am running the ezQuake linux client compiled from source and I need some help figuring ut why my fov has changed.

After compiling the latest version from source 2021-11-29 (commit 96ee7ab6bce9e9871ef1e5ba73ca6586ba3573c8) my fov became higher.

The previous version I used was compiled from source 2020-10-03 (don't know what commit). Switching back to this version fixes the issue.

Just in case your previous version was based on an older ezquake 2.x (unlikely since you said 2020...), try the fov adjustment option from https://www.quakeworld.nu/forum/topic/6757/ezquake-2x-to-30-upgrade-info:

Quote:
Run calc_fov 124 (replace 124 with your current fov) in ezQuake 3 and it will print what fov to change to.

These are the versions given with /version for each binary

ezQuake 3.6-dev-alpha2 r6780~c3a0bd7e (normal fov)
ezQuake 3.6-dev-alpha10-dev r7173~96ee7ab6 (higher fov)

I tried calc_fov anyway which gave me 133 (132.812027). After some manual testing with two ezQuake opened, 126 seems accurate. I have no idea what's going on.

133/140 = 0.9487 (calc_fov)
126/140 = 0.9000 (manual testing for equal fov)

I will join discord when I have some free time. Thanks!
