Hello everyone, I would like to introduce my first Quake map to you!

The map has a simple layout. I shaped the whole of the map to be in a slight cross shape with 2 opposite corners being designated as major sites for fragging. This map would not be my first map that I have made. I have been making maps for games for doom for about a year now. I even dipped my hand into making a Half-Life 1 map using J.A.C.K Hammer Editor. This is the first time that I have used TrenchBroom and I like the software so far. allow me to introduce you to the different parts of my map.

The main hub of the map is The Junction where all points of the map connect.

After leaving The Junction you will enter one of the major corners of the map. One of these corners is called The Cathedral. This is a spacious area with a small hedge maze outside, a graveyard and a pretty interior.

The other corner of the map is what I like to call The Altar Room. This is not as spacious as The Cathedral but I made sure to make enough room. There is even a lava pit that will take you to a small room with yellow armor in it.

Last but most certainly not least is the Quad Damage room. This is a pretty cool looking room as the ramps leading up to the portal look to form what looks like an Eagle with glowing eyes.

I hope you guys enjoy the map and happy fragging!

(P.S: The map will work on Vanilla Quake, EZQuake and Quakespasm. I tried playing this with Darkplaces but I got some odd graphical glitches.)

Hi.
Visual part looks nice.
Probably it is too big for 1on1 and even 2on2.
I think it makes sense to add to single player possibility.
Rendering speed is not good.
Also I have noticed a geometry glitch: when moving over the left ramp (left on your last screenshot) nearer to the inner side in the most top segment of the ramp I fall through the ramp.

Sorry for the late reply, I have been a bit busy with school. Anyways, the ramp glitch was something that i tried to make a work around for but I was having some trouble fidgeting with it. I liked the cool design of the ramp so I just kept it even though it was glitched. That's a lazy mistake on my part. As for the map size, I definitely agree. When I got close to finishing the map I took a step back and looked at the map. I realized exactly what you said but it was a bit too late and I didn't want to either remake the map or remake large portions.

This was my first Quake map using TrenchBroom so I think my next map will be a lot more refined. I may make another Deathmatch map soon so I can practice more and get better at mapping.
